Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
DO turns what you save — screenshots, photos, documents, links and messages — into useful actions. This policy explains what happens to that information. If something is unclear, contact us (see the end of this page).
In short
- Everything you save stays on your iPhone. DO has no account, no advertising, no tracking and sends no usage analytics.
- Reading text, recognising dates, amounts and places, and search all happen on your iPhone.
- Cloud AI is optional and off until you turn it on. When it is on, only the extracted text of the one item being analysed is sent — never photos, files or anything else. It is not stored by DO's server and not used to train AI models.
- iCloud Sync, where available, uses your own private iCloud storage. The developer of DO cannot see it.
- You can export or delete everything at any time in Settings.
Who is responsible
The controller responsible for DO is Vasile Piciriga. Contact: picirigavasile@icloud.com.
What DO stores on your iPhone
Everything you capture is stored in DO's private storage on your iPhone, protected by iOS data protection:
- the original you saved (photo, scan, PDF, file, link or text),
- the text DO extracted from it,
- the details DO found (kind of item, title, dates, amounts, places, references) and any changes you make,
- the actions you performed from DO (for example "added to Calendar") so you can undo them,
- your settings, such as your optional first name for the greeting.
This data never leaves your iPhone unless you share it yourself, use iCloud Sync or use Cloud AI as described below. It is included in your iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer) if you use one.
The DO share extension and widgets run on your iPhone and use the same private storage. The widgets show a short list of items that need your attention; that list is stored on your iPhone only.
How your items are understood
Text recognition (OCR), barcode reading, the recognition of dates, amounts, places and document types, and search run on your iPhone using Apple's frameworks. On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, DO can also use Apple's on-device language model; that processing also stays on your iPhone.
When you save a link that arrives without a page title, DO loads that one page from your iPhone to read its title, as a browser would. The website receives an ordinary request from your iPhone; DO sends it nothing else, and nothing goes to DO's server.
Permissions
DO asks for access only when you use a feature that needs it, and you can change your choice in iOS Settings at any time:
- Camera — to take a photo or scan a document you want to keep.
- Photos — DO uses the system photo picker, so it only receives the photos you pick and has no access to your library.
- Calendar — write-only access to add an event you choose. DO cannot read your calendar.
- Reminders — to add a reminder you choose to the Reminders app and to remove it again if you tap Undo.
- Contacts — to save a contact after you confirm the contact card. DO does not read your other contacts.
- Microphone and speech recognition — only while Voice is open, to turn what you say into text. Speech is transcribed on your iPhone; if your iPhone cannot do that for your language, Voice is not offered. DO keeps the text, not the recording.
- Notifications — for reminders and deadlines you set. Notifications are scheduled on your iPhone; there is no notification server.
Opening a map, a link, a phone number or an e-mail address hands it to the app you use for that (for example Maps, Safari, Phone or Mail). DO does not access your location.
iCloud Sync (DO Pro)
Where iCloud Sync is available and you turn it on, DO keeps your items in the private database of your own iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), so they appear on your other devices. This storage belongs to your Apple Account and is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. The developer of DO has no access to it. If you delete your data in DO while iCloud Sync is on, the synced copies are removed as well. Turning iCloud Sync off only stops syncing: the copies already in your iCloud stay there until you delete them in DO with iCloud Sync on, or remove DO's data in the iCloud storage settings of your device.
Cloud AI (optional)
Some iPhones or languages are not supported by Apple's on-device model (for example Russian, or older iPhones). For them, DO can offer deeper analysis in the cloud.
When. Only if you turn on Allow cloud AI in Settings ▸ AI & Privacy, and only for an item you capture or for which you ask DO to explain a letter or prepare a reply. You can turn it off at any time; nothing is sent after that.
What is sent. The text DO extracted from that one item (at most 8,000 characters), together with technical context needed to read it: the language, your region and language setting, your time zone and the current time, and DO's on-device guess of the kind of item. If you ask for a reply, the short wish you type for it is sent too. Photos, scans, PDFs and other files are never sent, and no other items are sent.
How it is processed. The text is sent over an encrypted connection to DO's server (a gateway run by the developer on Cloudflare) and from there to Anthropic, whose Claude AI model analyses it. The answer comes back the same way and is checked on your iPhone before DO uses it.
- DO's server does not store the text or the answer and does not write them to any log. It keeps only a random installation code in hashed form (so it cannot be turned back into the code) together with the day it was created and last used, and daily request counters, to enforce fair-use limits. Unused installation codes are deleted after 180 days, counters after two days. To limit abuse, the number of new installations per network per day is counted using a keyed hash of the IP address; this counter is deleted after two days and the IP address itself is not stored.
- Anthropic processes the text on our behalf as a processor. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. It may keep requests for a limited period to operate the service and to detect and prevent misuse, and then deletes them.
- Cloudflare, which runs DO's server, processes your IP address and technical connection data to deliver the request and to protect the service. The server's operational logs contain only technical information such as the endpoint, status code and duration — never the text, the answer, your installation code or your IP address.
Legal basis. Your consent, given by turning on Allow cloud AI (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by turning the switch off; this does not affect processing that already took place. Counting installations and requests to prevent abuse is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and affordable (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Do not rely on AI output alone. AI can be wrong. DO shows where a detail came from, and you can always check the original.
Purchases
DO Pro subscriptions are sold and handled by Apple through the App Store. DO only learns from Apple whether DO Pro is active and until when. DO never sees your payment details, your name or your Apple Account. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchases.
No account, no advertising, no tracking
DO has no user accounts and no sign-in. It contains no advertising, no third-party code, no tracking and no analytics or crash-reporting services. DO does not send usage statistics anywhere.
If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give the developer anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage figures for DO. These come from Apple, not from DO, and you can turn this off in iOS Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Analytics & Improvements.
Your control and your rights
In DO you can at any time:
- edit or delete any item — deleting an item also deletes its original file,
- export all your items as a file (Settings ▸ Export my data),
- delete all data (Settings ▸ Delete all data), which also removes DO's scheduled notifications,
- turn Cloud AI and iCloud Sync on or off.
Deleting DO from your iPhone deletes the data stored on it. Copies in your backups remain until those backups are replaced.
Under the GDPR and similar laws you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. Because your items are stored only on your devices and in your own iCloud, you can exercise most of these rights directly in DO. The developer holds no data that identifies you: the only data on DO's server is a hashed installation code and counters, which cannot be linked to you by name. You can still contact us with any request or question, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live or work.
Transfers outside the EU
Anthropic and Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or, where the recipient is certified, by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Security
Data on your iPhone is protected by iOS data protection. All connections to DO's server and from there to Anthropic are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). The server accepts requests only with a valid installation code and within daily limits.
Children
DO is a general utility and is not directed at children. Cloud AI should only be turned on by users who are old enough to consent to it under the law of their country (in many EU countries, 16).
Changes to this policy
If DO changes how it handles data, we will update this policy and the date at the top before the change takes effect. A feature that sends data somewhere new will stay off until you turn it on.
